Can I do e-file first 1040 with Form 8938 and then do Form 1040X for Form 5471 ?

Hi,

Given these,

I have to file Form 8938, Form 5471. Reason for pointing both forms because I have banks attached to the foreign company and has funds over $10K which I have to report in Form 8938.
Form 8938 is supported by TT.

On a different site, I have to file FBAR/FinCEN, which I will do.
I have to file California state

Can I e-file IRS first, without Form 5471? After e-filing, then can I do the Form1040x and send Form 5471 via postal mail?

For California, they don't need Form 5471, so I am good. Is my assumption correct?

You can do this as long as you file the 5471 with the 1040X, before the filing deadline including extensions.

The Form 5471 instructions states that the Form must be attached to the appropriate tax return therefore you must mail in the tax return, in your case Form 1040X with Form 5471 attached.
