Can I claim my sister as a dependent? She’s a full time student and lives with me, I’m the sole provider in our home.

If your parents do not claim your sister as a dependent, you claim her if you provided more than half of her support in 2017. If she aged 24 or over at the end of 2017, she has to earn less than $4,050 to be claimed as a dependent. You can also claim her education expenses if you claim her as a dependent..

And you may qualify for Head of Household filing status.
