Can i claim my parents as dependents if they also file their own tax returns?

If your parents are filing a joint return, you may not claim them as your dependents.. The following explains the additional rules for claiming dependents on your return. https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/5187060

Probably not. If they have enough income to be required to file a tax return, they have too much income to qualify as your dependent.
