Can I claim my child as dependent for tax if I live and work in CA and they live and go to school in a different state?

Can I claim my child as a dependent for tax if I live and work in CA and they live and work and go to school in a different state?  They are full time student under age of 24, and I provide more than 50% of their financial support.

Yes you can.  See this previous answer, attending school in a different state is irrelevant:

Can I claim a college student as a dependent if he is away all year?

Clarification - I read the other post you added - thank you!  If my child is enrolled as a graduate student and not an undergraduate student, does that change my ability to claim them as a dependent?

No, the type of student does not matter as long as they are under 24 and you supply more than half their support.
