Can I claim my brother as a dependent this year? Been told too many different answers.

1. He is disabled, cannot drive but started working this year, earned 10,000 gross. Was told age and income doesn’t matter if they are disabled.
2. I would be claiming him as a qualifying child.
3. My mother doesn’t work, receives social security so she isn’t claiming him.
4. He doesn’t provide more than half of his own support.
5. Did the IRS interactive tool to check dependent eligibility and it said I am allowed to claim him.

If your brother meets the income limit you can claim him on your tax return as a dependent.  For 2019 that limit is the standard deduction of $12,200 for single persons.  If he meets the IRS interactive tool to check dependent eligibility you should have no problems claiming him on your tax return.
