Can i claim my boyfriend as a dependant and be head of household?

My boyfriend has lived with me for 3 years, and he hasn' worked I support him and pay all the bills,he is 61 and can't find work also has had 2 surgeries in the past 3 years and is a diabetic. Can I claim head of household and claim him as a dependant?

If your boyfriend did not make over $4,200 last year, lived with you for more than 1/2 the year and you provided more than 1/2 of his support then yes you can claim him on your return, but he would not be considered a qualifying dependent for you to file as head of household.

If your boyfriend did not make over $4,200 last year, lived with you for more than 1/2 the year and you provided more than 1/2 of his support then yes you can claim him on your return, but he would not be considered a qualifying dependent for you to file as head of household.

You can get a $500 dependent credit.

ok, so can i claim my girlfriend then? she has lived with me for the past 5 years and doesnt work. only cash paying jobs. i pay more than half for the household. i feel like last year it wouldnt let me, even tho that is the case. her daughter lives with us too 50/50 but i guess the father is claiming her. but from what im reading, here, I should def be able to claim my GF... correct?
