Can i claim a dependant if they made more than 4300 from unemployment ? Other than that they did not have a job at any time in 2020
I am engaged and my father in law lived with me in 2020 with no income, although he did receive unemployment which is more than 4300, can i still claim him as a dependant ? I wasnt sure if unemployment income counts in this case

Yes, unemployment is income.

The only income that would not "count" is Social Security. If your FIL had unemployment---that "counts."

you can't claim your FIL as a dependent if his gross income for the year including UC is over 4300.
if his gross income is less you could claim him as a dependent if he meets all the other tests to be a qualifying relative
