can I change the status from single to head of household

Do you have a qualified dependent?   (Hint---a GF or BF or their child cannot be a qualified dependent for HOH filing status)

If you qualify as Head of Household, when you enter your marital status (single or married filing separately) into MyInfo, and then enter your qualifying dependent, TurboTax will offer HOH as your filing status.

 

If you qualify for Head of Household.  Not everyone will qualify.  There is a test to determine eligibility for Head of Household.
