Can I add and include VAT paid on international shopping expenses?

I did major shopping last year for our wedding? This might be silly to include, but, would like to confirm. Am I able to include foreign paid VAT on the tax return.

Hi @nupur85,

Per IRS "In most cases, only foreign income taxes qualify for the foreign tax credit. Other taxes, such as foreign value-added taxes, sales taxes, and property taxes are generally ineligible for a credit, but may be eligible for an itemized deduction."
