(CA) State e-file advertised by TurboTax at $20, but charged $25

I e-filed my California income tax return in February 2025 before the anticipated price increase for state e-filing in March. TurboTax advertised a discounted rate of $20 for early filing, but charged $25 to my credit card. Does the $20 price just apply to certain state e-filings?

You might first check your records to confirm whether the $25 charge was for state e-filing or for another service or product. If you were charged $25 for state e-filing during the February discount period and qualified for the $20 e-file offer, see this help article for instructions to request a refund.

If you tried the online refund option and still need assistance, see this help article and this one for instructions on how to contact TurboTax customer support depending on which product you are using.
