Box 15 is blank on my w2. it will not let me efile because of this. SD does not have state income tax therefore does not have an ID #

A blank box 15 state employer ID on your W-2 should not cause a problem with your return processing at the IRS or the state revenue office. If there are no entries in 17, you may leave the entire box 15 and 16 blank, as well.  If you do have entries in box 17, please see the work around below.

It doesn't give me the option to not put something in there. Can't get past that page without something there.

I also am experiencing this issue as 15 is blank. Also, my box 16, state wages tips etc, is blank (17) my state income tax on my w-2 and is causing errors with TT because they're forcing me to enter a value for it...
