Box 14 of my W2 has some value like 12.34 SUI, what is the meaning of this? And how can I complete?

I live in NY and work in PA. On my W2, Box 14 I see the following things:

  • Federal copy has: like 12.34 SUI
  • PA State copy has: like 12.34 PA SUI
  • NY state copy has:  (its empty, nothing is there)

What is the meaning of this and how to complete it? Do i need to type every part like federal and states?

You would have to ask your employer what the code SUI means. There are no IRS approved codes for box 14 entries. The entries probably do not affect your tax return.

SUI =  State Unemployment Insurance

A mandatory tax that is past on to the employee.  You can classify it as a mandatory income based tax for itemized deductions. When you enter your W2, the program will prompt you as to what this entry represents.
