Availability of forms for e-filing.

Availability of forms for e-filing.

(1) Why would any availability be AFTER an IRS (State of Federal) due date?

  • For example, I am being told that the CT filing for LLC will be available on March 21st. The deadline is March 15th (this year 17th because 15th is a Saturday).  [Turbotax Intuit - Small Business Taxes ]
  • Furthermore, I can't e-file federal (there was a time when Federal was transmitted separately from any states and each state was separate).
  • SO now the SOLUTION is to (a) file an extension (b) go elsewhere  .... uhm

(2) Also why would the following NOT be supported WHEN TurboTax requires you to add and attach it to your return AND does the state require filing electronically and not accept hard copies?

USForm 8453-PEPartnership Declaration for an IRS e-file ReturnYesUnsupported

Form Status

Makes me seriously reconsider TurboTax as a solution.  I don't understand this, and it hurts my head every time I think about it.

Any takers on some answers?

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Sure, with respect to the 8453-PE.

That particular form (as well as the 8453-FE and 8453-CORP) merely authorizes TurboTax (Intuit) to transmit your return electronically to the IRS. In other words, the form is sent to Intuit which, in turn, transmits your return to the IRS.

For your partnership/multi-member LLC return (1065), you need to print out the 8453-PE, sign and date the form, scan it to a file, and then upload that file into the program so that it can be sent to Intuit (authorizing the e-filing of your 1065).
