Audit Risk assessment says I have risk b/c my return has Form 982 - debt cancellation income. I don't have that form in my return. Do I need to resolve b/f I file?

No, this is a message people are receiving in error.  Please go ahead and file and don't worry about it.   it will be fixed.

You are 100% positive that this Form 982 is not a problem?

Can I delete the Form 982 because it does not apply to my situation?

After an update to the program this weekend, my issue went away.....sounds like it may still be an issue for others.

wkcreelman, I applied a Mac Home/Biz update earlier today, but I still have the problem. Could you please read the link above with my updated info and let me know if your issue was being caused by a situation like mine, and which version/platform of TT are you using?

Stacie17,  I read your link.  My issue nothing like yours.  I did nothing that I could see that was unusual and I have a plain vanilla return......the warning just popped up.  Sorry.  The version of TT I used was TURBOTAX HOME AND BUSINESS TAX YEAR 2018 WIN DOWNLOAD WITH STATE......for Windows....state was for CA.  Good luck!

Thanks, Blind Squirrel. I have TT H&B for Mac download w/NC. Sure hope this is fixed soon. I'm ready to file, but don't want to include an extraneous form 982.

Still having the form 982 issue and I can't delete it. It keeps coming back. This is as of 2/23/19 and all updates applied

This was probably overkill, but I decided to trash my 2018 file, trash TtH/B then reinstall. Second time around, form 982 or audit warning never reared its head. Filed and done. Still frustrated by all of this, but now it is over. By the way, first time through, I looked at the PDF of what would have been filed. Though the audit warning was there, there was no form 982. Good luck everyone.

TurboTax: What is taking you so long to fix this simple problem? You are causing customers to unnecessarily delay filing due to "risk paranoia." For those who have the same issue, know that I filed in spite of the bogus warning and received a refund within 10 days. However, this does not relieve TurboTax from fixing this bug. We paid money for your software. FIX IT!

this is ridiculous.  we are going to h&r block instead. if this error exists, what other laced bugs do you have in your software
