Are refunds and option? I paid to file but I can't file because of some discrepancy that I have no knowledge of ad the IRS is closed because of the pandemic .

You can still paper file.  Just print it and mail it to the address on the cover sheet.  The Post Office and the IRS are still working so you should be able to file.  It  just takes a few days longer, but if you're due a refund you might as well get the process going.
