Are membership fees for health insurance deductible? If so, where do I put it in TurboTax Premier Online?

I was not a Postal federal employee but I am enrolled in the National Association of Letter Carriers Health Benefit Plan.  Since I was not a postal employee, I am required to pay Health Plan Member dues of $36.00 each year to stay enrolled in the NALC Health Benefit Plan each year. Is this a deductible expense and if so where do I put  it in TurboTax Premier Online?

You can treat that as a health insurance expense if the only benefit you get by paying it is health insurance coverage. You enter it in the Federal section of TurboTax, then Deductions and Credits, then Medical and then Medical Expenses.

However, medical expenses are only deductible to the extent they are more than 7.5% of your adjusted gross income and will benefit you only if your itemized deductions are more than your standard deduction.
