Are log in credentials the same for the TT community forums as for Turbotax?

To update email and password, I updated email and password for TurboTax and that works, however at first it looked like the same credentials worked for login to the community forums, but after working at it more it appears that the same credentials that were updated for Turbotax (not the TT forums) don't work to log into the TT community forums. In other words the new email and new password updated in TT don't seem to work to log in  to the forums.  How are the sites designed to work?  Same credentials to get into both?  Or if not, what is the difference?  email address seems to have been updated in both by updating in one, but not sure if password is working that way.

This Turbo Tax FAQ will provide information on accessing the correct account.
How many TurboTax accounts do I have?

To better understand, let me ask about that question differently:

1. If I set up a valid log in ID and password for the TurboTax community forums will that same ID and password let me in to my TurboTax account? Yes or no

2. If I set up a valid log in ID and password for my TurboTax account will that same ID and password let me into the TurboTax community forums? Yes or no

(By the way I am not using on-line to prepare taxes, that account only seems to show the sales history, which is a version I purchased a few years ago.)

The answer to your question is yes. You can actually log into your community account and click on the blue button at the top, that says Open TurboTax. Please see the information in this Help Article that will assist in answering questions about your Intuit accounts.
