Are 1040 ES vouchers for the future year really filed along with the 1040 and so on. They really should not be but do appear in the drop down menu as "docs to be sent"?

Those 1040ES forms are optional.  You only use them if you need/want to mail in estimated quarterly payments for the upcoming tax year.

They are NOT sent to the feds or state so they do not know if or when they will come or what the amount will be ... as mentioned already they are optional to use and you can change the amount sent if required.
