Amending to add Form 1099 INT

I had already filed my taxes and they were accepted by the IRS. About a week after, I received a form 1099INT of $10 and some change from the IRS. I went ahead and attempted to amend my return to add this form, but now it says I must file by mail. Why must I file by mail if this document does not affect my return at all?

I attempted to cancel the amend to get advice, but now my turbo tax account says “ready to send by mail”. I’m completely lost.

Try to undo your amend by following the directions listed in this FAQ

Thanks, I will try this.

Even if I delete the amended return, do I still have to report the 1099INT sent by the IRS? It was $10 and doesn’t affect my refund at all.

Yes, technically, you would still need to amend since your income would change by $10.

@Vanessa A  Amending my taxes and adding this form would force me to do it by mail? Is this correct?

Possibly.  Some people are able to e-file there amended return. TurboTax will tell you if you are eligible to e-file or if you will need to print and mail your return.
