Amended return

I was told I didn’t need to amend my return that I had already filed for the credit for the $10,200 in unemployment. I had already filed when they announced it. But the answer you guys just sent me days I do need to amend it. There’s nothing on irs saying it’s processing or anything. So just to double check, I now need to amend my return? If I do this today, when might I get a refund ?

No that other answer might have been wrong.

If you filed early before the exclusion, the IRS will recalculate your return for the new 10,200 unemployment exemption for you. There is no need for taxpayers to file an amended return unless the calculations make the taxpayer newly eligible for additional federal credits and deductions not already included on the original tax return.

No way to track it.  Just keep waiting.  The IRS is sending them out in batches over the summer.
