Amazon purchase doesn't sync with exsting account

Amazon purchase doesn't sync with existing turbo tax acct ?

What prompted this question?   What are you ultimately trying to do?

 If you bought a CD or download from Amazon, it will be provided by Amazon.  

 Plus, the  Online and desktop (CD/download) versions of TurboTax also do not sync.  They are completely separate products.   So any desktop returns you've had in the past will not be seen in an online Tax Timeline.

That having been said, why are you asking?    What is it you were hoping would "sync?"   We may be able to tell you how to achieve your goal if you provide some details about your issue.

For instance, if you need to transfer 2015 data into a 2016 return, we can tell you how, no matter where it was purchased.   If that's your issue, then what did you use for 2015--Online TurboTax or the desktop version?    And what are you using for the 2016 return this year--the online version or the desktop version?

I just wanted my 2015 taxes in printable form that I did via turbo tax.

The website said to upgrade to get access to those past taxes so I did via Amazon ( they aren't on my computer)

Do you see evidence of the 2015 Online return in the 2015 Tax Timeline of your TurboTax account, but access is locked?   When you try to access it, does it tell you to upgrade and pay?

Did you use the Free Edition for 2015?    If you used a paid edition of Online TurboTax last year (PLUS or higher), then your 2015 return should not be locked.

Paying for something at Amazon won't affect your Online TurboTax account.  The only way for a user to unlock returns automatically is to upgrade and pay for a 2016 return in the same online account. 

However, you can phone TurboTax Support during the day and explain your situation.  Hopefully, they will unlock the returns for you.

By the way, you can still use the product you purchased at Amazon.  You can even download the *.tax2015 data file from your online account and transfer it into a new 2016 return that you prepare on your computer.

Following the steps in this article will generate a phone number for you.  The number will not appear when they are closed, however.  Hours are 5AM-9PM Pacific (8AM-12 Midnight Eastern) 7 days/week.
