A state return can only be e-filed after the Federal return is e-filed and accepted.
Why do you need to paper file Federal because of a MD student loan? That sounds like a state credit not a Federal credit.
Thanks for responding! That’s not what I’m asking. I’m not asking about Federal, only State. I will e-file my state refund, but I also have to paper file 502CR because of the tax credit. I’m asking if those will be two separate filings. Regular filing and then the additional paper filing for the tax credit. I never had to file for a tax credit before so I’m a little confused.
Maryland Form 502CR, Income Tax Credits for Individuals is available to e-file. The form is part of your Maryland state income tax return so must be filed with the return. It is included in the TurboTax Maryland state program.
