Allocation of Detroit Wages

Hi. I've followed the instructions for the Allocation of Detroit Wages since I live outside of the city and rarely go into the office. When I finish it reads, Your Detroit refund is $2,018. My issue or concern is that when I finish all of my Taxes this amount does not show up in the Tax Summary page. Shouldn't it?

Thanks!

It won't show separately in the tax summary.   It will be combined with your MI state return.   When it comes to filing taxes, if a nonresident Detroit employee has a W-2 that shows city-based income tax withheld for periods when working remotely, the city permits those employees to exclude time spent working as a non-resident.

The Detroit refund is most likely combined with your state return.  As part of a partnership that will help the city to run more efficiently, the Michigan Department of Treasury is currently processing City of Detroit Individual Income tax returns. This change was in effect beginning with the 2015 tax year.

Wether I apply it or don't apply it the State Return comes out the same amount. The is why I'm confused.
