A few random input screens don't allow supporting details to be added

There are a number of input screens that really should allow supporting details to be added, but those screens don't allow that.

May I suggest that all input screens have the capability to add supporting details, since the supporting details will provide an excellent place for notes that will serve one well when the IRS comes a calling.

TurboTax for 2023 taxes has changed. The screen for the entry of stock sales (1099-B) no longer includes Add Supporting Details. Very frustrating.

They also removed the ability to change the name or account number. Must now go to Forms to do that.

Premier, Downloaded Desktop version

Please advise TurboTax not to fix what isn't broken.

@Romper  Are you on Windows or Mac?  For Mac there is a little right/left scroll bar up under the list of sales.  Not at the very bottom.  That may help you scroll right to find it and edit the entries.

Hi VolvoGirl

Thanks for responding...

I'm using Windows 10.

The screen where one enters Total Proceeds and Total Cost no longer includes the ability to right click to Add Supporting Details.

I don't see a scroll bar, just a sort arrow.

The 2023 version of desktop TT still has the same limitation.  Some screens have a new GUI, I assume that matches the online version (e.g., property tax and vehicle license) that do not allow adding supporting detail.   It was far better when you could add detail, create a record of what has been included, and allow TT to do the addition.

TurboTax has become less user friendly by removing the ability to add supporting information.

Please fix this for 2024.

@SB Bill  In the desktop software you can add supporting details in forms mode.

That's good to know, thanks.  Though don't underestimate the usability issue that is created in interview mode when you can't enter multiple property tax payments for primary residence but you can enter multiple tax payments  for other real estate.

TurboTax 2024 Premier Desktop Windows 10

TurboTax has not restored the ability to add supporting details during the interview on screens that previously had the ability. Must still go to Forms to add.

The supporting details do save contrary to what anitabath is seeing.
