A fee of 2.49% is applied to credit cards? How does intuit justify charging that much for process a credit card? How does Intuit justify that fee for a transaction?

Its encourages people to choose this with the following statement:
Earn points, miles or get cash back depending on your credit card. A convenience fee applies for using this service.

In this time of financial uncertainty I am extremely disappointed that they would find another way to charge a fee.

TurboTax does not charge a fee for paying your tax with a credit card. The company that processes the credit card payment charges a fee.

Whenever you pay for anything with a credit card, a fee has to be paid to the credit card processor. When you buy something with a credit card, the seller usually pays the fee, which reduces the amount of money that the seller actually gets. But the IRS will not pay the credit card fee. They have to collect the full amount of tax. So you have to pay the credit card fee.
