8915F Error

TurboTax shows my return with no errors, yet it keeps being rejected by the IRS. I have followed the instructions to fix it, but it does not work.

The error is:

Reject Code /Return/ReturnData/IRS8915F/QlfyDsstrDistriNotIRAPlansGrp/PriorYrSelectedDistriAmt

I have an early IRA withdrawal related to Hurricane Ian. I had also taken early a covid withdrawal in 2020 and reported it over 3 years.

Assistance is much appreciated! Thank you.

In order to clear up this reject code, you will need to do the following:

Review information that appears on Form 8915-F, Qualified Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Repayments. For each copy of Form 8915-F in the return, verify that the form has been properly completed.

The return cannot be electronically filed if there are negative amounts in Part II or III

If you need to make corrections, go to Federal Taxes / Income, then scroll down to the Retirement section, and select the1099-R topic. Follow on-screen prompts until you get to the screen. "Did You take a 2020 Qualified Disaster Distribution?" Answer Yes, and provide the requested information. If there are any negative amounts on this screen, you must either correct the amounts, or print and file this return by mail.
