5 different free States for 5 different federal returns on costco purchased turbotax premier?

I bought TT premier from costco.  It says i can use it for up to 5 different federal returns.

If I give one of the 5 to my sister can she use a different FREE State?  She is Indiana and I am Nebraska.

Or can only Indiana be used as the FREE State for each of the 5 different federal returns?

You get the software for ONE specific state with the desktop software.  If you download Nebraska, then getting another state -- Indiana -- will cost you another $44.99.

 

And make note---You get the software to PREPARE the state returns with the desktop software, but if you want to e-file the state return there is an extra charge.  You can avoid that state e-file fee if you print and mail the state instead.

You can file 5 Returns but you can only get 1 State for free

you would have to pay for info from additional states

Thank you for the clarification. Past answer I read from last year was confusing.

With that said, it sucks to have roommates that work out of State part of the year even though we are  based in TX. Hookem Horns!
