2nd stimulus payment

I received my first stimulus payment in April.  So far I haven't received the second payment.  There have been no changes to my banking information.  What's going on?

Hello! I understand that times are difficult and I want to assure you that I want to do all that I can to help get you the information you need.

As part of the Tax Filing process, TurboTax sends the appropriate banking information to the IRS to deliver stimulus payments directly to customer bank accounts.

Please know that the IRS will make updates to the Get My Payment portal to provide updated information for taxpayers, you will be able to see updates about your payment here: https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment If you have questions about the payment tool, please contact the IRS for further assistance.

I hope this information helps and I would like to encourage you to visit our Stimulus Tax Center webpage where we are constantly updating it with any new information we get regarding the stimulus: https://turbotax.intuit.com/coronavirus/

The IRS will stop mailing Stimulus checks on 1/15 so if you don't get it by the time the efiling opens on Feb 12  you can apply for the missing money on your 2020 return.

The Stimulus Checks are really based on your 2020 return we are filing in 2021.  So any amount you already got will be reconciled on your 2020 return line 30.  If you didn't get a Stimulus Check (and qualify) or you qualify for more it will be added to your 2020 return.  But the good news is if they paid you too much they won't take it back.

When you go through the federal review tab it will ask how much you got if any.  Or to enter your stimulus payment in TurboTax, type "stimulus" (without the quotes) in the Search box, then click the link that says "Jump to stimulus."

After you have entered your tax information and are ready for the Federal Review, it will be the first question.

If you are trying to trigger it, you can go to Other Situations, answer any questions and click Done. The next automatic selection is Federal Review and it will ask about payments received.
