After using TT Deluxe, I paid my 2024 taxes the amount due of $X electronically to be taken from my bank.
However, I see the Feds took $X out twice!
One was from an efile and the other says online account, both done on 4/14/25.
Both say the amounts are pending.
What should I do now?
- Will the IRS give me the 2nd $X amount back?
- Or do I need to contact them? (If so, what is the best way to do this?)

Both pending amounts will not post. One will fall off.

If the charge shows pending, it hasn't come out of your account. If the payment goes through it will say posted.
I show that the IRS took out the double payment from my checking account! So I think "pending" does not really show the real status. How can I get a hold of a live person to get my 2nd payment back? Thanks.
Talk to your bank. They will tell you pending doesn't mean the payment has posted.
Did you check your IRS account? If it shows the IRS took it twice they should catch it and send it back to you. Might take awhile. I would call the IRS. .
