When will I be able to use TurboTax online for preliminary 2024 Taxes? I need to decide about doing a roll-over to my Roth IRA and how much I can roll-over without negatively impacting IRMAA. Need to do this before year-end and in time to actually allow for the monies to be transferred - at least 2 to 3 weeks before the end of the year.
The TurboTax 2024 online editions should be available in early December 2024.
You indicated early December 2024, is that when the 2024 edition will be functional enough to do some before-end-of-the-year preliminary taxes? I purchased and downloaded the 2024 edition, however it is not functional enough to do even rudimentary input. For example, inputting Interest & Dividends and stock sales "will be ready soon". No judgement here, I just want to know yes/no if I should use the 2023 version to do estimates for 2024.
BTW, I am assuming you are an Intuit employee? If not, then perhaps an Intuit employee can comment?

Like you, I am wanting to know when software will be available to do preliminary taxes. I understand there can still be changes, but I need something reasonable to work with before year-end. Personally, I am trying to decide how much money to roll over from my traditional IRA to my Roth IRA. It will count as income. My goal is to minimize additional IRMAA premiums in 2025.

Where it says "Tax form availability" there is a drop down for you to pick which TT you are using.
