2024 Foreign Taxes Paid – DATE REQUIRED - NO FIELD THIS YEAR 2024 TO INPUT DATE

IN 2023 Turbotax online screen had fields to input on the screen FOREIGN TAXES PAID

Enter the following information to complete your foreign tax credits (NOT IN 2024 online option)

COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE in 2023                        (FIELD TO INPUT DATE)

DATE OF TAXES PAID         xx-xx-xxxx                    (FIELD TO INPUT DATE)

FOREIGN TAXES WERE                                             Paid or Accrued (select as applicable)

IN 2024 the screen only has FOREIGN TAXES were PAID or ACCRUED so this now shows up as an ERROR in the review

TT when doing the review comes up with an ERROR “CHECK THIS ENTRY” FORM 1116 - Foreign Tax Credit Comp Wks: Date MUST be entered.

Surely the same screen format for 2024 should be as used in 2023 and this would make the calculation work as the IRS has determined?

the "date paid" was changed. If it came from a 1099-DIV the date paid will say "1099-taxes" - no date.

Thank you - YES I CAN SEE THE "DATE PAID" was changed as you mention below - the "date paid" was changed. If it came from a 1099-DIV the date paid will say "1099-taxes" - no date.

FOREIGN BANKS DO NOT ISSUE 1099-DIV or 1099-INT and I input the values from the Dividend & Interest statement with the relevant Withholding Tax (Foreign Tax) and as such there is NO INPUT FIELD on the TT screen "Let's get the info from your 1099-DIV" - SO it follows that this will report an error - why can't TT just have the same as 2023 which records the date and the country details for the foreign tax paid?
