2022 fed tax comparing with 2021 e-filed and 2021 amended returns.

I made an error on 2021 Fed tax return, so needed to amend it.  The amended return increased the required tax payment and made adjustments to Capital Credits...  I am 99% complete with 2022 Fed return, but believe the capital credits are incorrect because TurboTax is using only the original 2021 Fed return.  How can one include the results of the amended return into the 2022 Fed return??  Do I need to file an extension for the 2022 Fed return until the IRS accepts the amended return in 12 to 18 months??

If you have the correct numbers you can manually enter the correct information.  It depends on the changes made on the amended return.  You can or should be able to manually enter the correct information on the 2022 return.

Thanks for the response and so quickly.

I went to "edit" and clicked "override" and was able to change the information on the 2022 tax return using the amended Schedule D.  I also reviewed and edited various worksheets on the 2021 return, so I'm pretty sure I'm much closer to the correct information on the 2022 tax return.
