2020 Turbotax Premier - faulty program

Hello, I purchased the Turbotax Premier for tax year 2020 and was using it to do my taxes.  I get all the way to the Interest & Dividends section and get through "4 of 9 Income Sections" and when I click on the "Next Income Section" it freezes up and no longer responds.  I've waited 15 - 20 minutes to see if it comes out of the freeze up and it doesn't so all I can do is close the program then start it up again in recovery mode but when I get to the same spot it freezes up again.  Any suggestions?

Can you skip all the previous sections and just go directly to it?

 

Enter a 1099-Int  under

Federal Taxes tab

Wages & Income

Interest and Dividends

Interest on 1099INT - Click the Start, Revisit Or Update button

 

Don't enter the bank or broker name and don't try to import it.  It is just as fast and easy to manually enter it.  At the bottom pick -  Change How I enter my Form

Then on the next screen pick I'll Type it in Myself

I was on a call with 2 different customer service reps for close to 3 hours.  The first rep was no help the second finally noticed that there is a bulletin saying it is a software glitch that needs to be fixed.  She could not give a time for the fix.  A workaround she suggested wasn't practical.

How can software that has been in use for decades now have a bug where it hang while stepping between functions?  I'm a retired software developer and this is incredibly unbelievable.
