To enter a 6 digit IP PIN

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Other Tax Situations
  • Scroll down to Other Return Info
  • On Identity Protection PIN, click the start button

Or enter ip pin in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to ip pin

To be clear, what you have is an IP PIN. It is not the same as the e-file PIN that TurboTax requests at the end. Two different things. IP stands for Identity Protection. It helps to deter fraud supposedly if your identity has been stolen.

Yes you are correct, but I still should be able to enter the pin a person wants to E-file and they can't, so is there a place to enter if not Turbo Tax needs to update the app with a fix's you think

I would like to thank you all for the quick reply on solving the problem, the IP Pin has been entered per instruction notes and 1040 has been resubmitted under e-file

Thank you all again
