2018 schedule D line 21 says put amount on 2018 1040 line 13, but 2018 1040 line 13 says subtract line 12 from line 11 ?????????????

so where do you post capital loss on 2018 1040???

Schedule D line 21 is referring to Schedule 1, line 13, not Form 1040.
