1099-NEC pushy with questions

We received a few 1099-nec this year, and one of them really pushed me for questions.  Like, what was the accounting method, and 1099Filed?

I did not have to answer such weird questions on other 1099-nec, and it would not let me submit without fixing these "errors".  This was income from a part time job that eventually was hired on and received normal w2.

I just had to guess at the answers to be honest, i chose cash method and yes to 1099 filed.  What's the scoop here and do i have anything to worry about?

There is nothing to worry about. Since 1099 is issued to those who are not employees, then it is considered self-employment. All the questions which you saw were part of Schedule C which all independent contractors need to fill and submit. Since you are filing a 1099-nec, you are required to answer those questions so that you can deduct any expenses which you had while performing the work and so that you can pay self-employment tax on the earnings.
