1099-MISC State E-File

I used the TurboTax Quick Employer Form to create and efile a Form 1099-MISC which also needs to be submitted to Massachusetts. It seems some websites e-file using CFSF where the form is automatically also forwarded to the state.  Is this also done for anything e-filed through TurboTax Quick Employer Forms? It is not clear at all.

Yes, you must file with your state of Massachusetts (MA).  Print the forms and mail them to the address

Quick Employer Forms (QEF) FAQs

I have electronically filed, now do I have to mail or submit anything to my State?

After e-filing, be sure to check your state's website for W-2 or 1099 reporting requirements.
Each state's requirements vary, and most don't require the forms be submitted. Perform an Internet search for your state web address to find details. You do not need to mail anything to the IRS or SSA after e-filing with Quick Employer Forms.

MA 1099 Filing Requirements -- Although Massachusetts   participates in the Combined Federal/State Filing Program, all transmitters are required to file the following 1099 forms directly to DOR regardless of participation in the IRS Combined Fed/State Filing Program:

  • Form 1099 MISC
  • Form 1099 DIV
  • Form 1099 INT
  • Form 1099 K
  • Form 1099 NEC
  • Form 1099 R

NOTE:

If you have less than 50 Form 1099s to report, you may submit them on paper. However, you are encouraged to e-file through MassTaxConnect

The mailing address to submit 50 or less Form 1099s is:

Massachusetts Department of Revenue
P.O. Box 7045
Boston, MA 02204
