I sold 4 concert tickets this year I was unable to attend due to Covid. I selected that this was income from selling personal property. I sold my personal property at a gain because Stubhub did not give me the option to sell it for the purchase price. I put this in my 1099-K. I keep getting something telling me to review my 1099-K and add a schedule C. I AM NOT SELF-EMPLOYED. And yes, even though I only sold these tickets for $800 I have to file because I live in Virginia. Is this a bug? When will this bug be fixed???
Where did you enter the 1099-K? If you used jump to or entered it in the business income section, it would look at this as business income. To enter it as regular income take the steps below. But before you do that you will need to delete the 1099-K you have already entered by selecting Tax Tools>>Tools>>Delete a Form>>Delete next to the 1099-K worksheet and delete next to the Schedule C.
Then you will enter the 1099-K and take the following steps to enter the form and your cost basis an Schedule D instead of C.
