1099-INT from IRS

Where should I enter the 1099-INT (Rev. 10-2013) from the IRS? In the Business or Personal sections?

I am using TurboTax Home & Business software for Windows.

Why did I receive this even though I didn't receive any income from the IRS? Where did this income come from?

Enter the IRS form 1099-INT reporting interest income.  In TurboTax CD/Download, follow these steps:

  • Across the top of the page, select Personal.
  • Across the top of the page, select Personal Income.
  • Scroll down to Interest and Dividends.
  • Select Start / Update to the right of Interest on 1099-INT.

You likely received a tax refund and received interest income to offset the time that the IRS held your money.
