Employee Working From Home

I am not self-employed, I work for a corporation whose employees all work from home. We do not have a home office to go to. I do have some minor expenses every year such as print ink, paper, internet costs, etc that I do not get re-imbursed for. I am at the question in Turbo Tax about having a home office and it asks about square footage, mortgage, etc. I do not have a home business, I have a personal desk and chair I purchased 2 years ago,  but the laptop was given by my employer. Can I claim these and how ?

No. As an employee you cannot deduct any home office expenses or the other minor expenses. Employee job related expenses are not deductible.  The home office and job expenses are only deductible if you are self-employed on your federal return.

Depending on which state you live in, these expenses may still be deductible.  Which state do you live in?

I lived in Maryville, TN Jan-May 2024 and Pembroke Pines, FL May-Dec 2024.

No state deduction since neither TN nor FL have state tax on wages.
