Work from home as moving expense?

I moved from Dallas to Chicago and work from home in Chicago. Can I claim moving expenses due to work relocation? I wasn't forced to relocate to keep my job. I said I was moving to Illinois and my company wanted me to stay with the company and offered me the opportunity to work from home remotely.

No, based on the information that you presented. Since the move was not directly related to your job.

Federal tax laws only allows you to deduct your moving expenses if your relocation relates to starting a new job or a transfer to a new location for your present employer. To qualify for the deduction, your new work location must be a sufficient distance from your old home and you must begin working shortly after you arrive.
