Why was my child considered credit for other dependants

Make sure you marked she lived with you all 12 months.  A child born during the tax year is always considered to have lived with you all 12 months.

If your child turned 17, during the tax year, they are no longer qualified for Child Tax Credit due to their age.  They then are listed as Other Dependent and you receive a $500 credit for them on your return.

Well, my daughter is 7 months old, and we fit all the other criteria for child tax credit
