Why is TurboTax wrongfully forcing me to upgrade my service? I have no foreign accounts in my finances and had no ability to skip this option. I would like a refund.

This service is not worth all the troubles and hoops we have to jump through to pay for a service which is heavily overpriced. An accountant would charge me less - terrible service! Very dissatisfied with my experience.

I can offer you a solution for the foreign account prompt.  This happens sometimes when the question is answered "yes" accidentally, then changed.  Follow these steps to get rid of the created form and the upgrade prompt:

 

 

  1. Click on Tools in the menu on the left
  2. Click on Tax Tools
  3. In the pop up window click on Delete a Form
  4. Scroll down the list of forms and delete Schedule B

 

This should get rid of the issue for you.  

If this doesn't work the first time, try clearing browser cache and cookies after deleting the form, close the browser and re-open.
