why does turbo tax ask if my HSA distributions were prior to turning 65?

My 1099-SA distribution amount includes before and after turning 65 and TT only asks if the distribution amount was after turning 65.

@ekother2001-tt did you enter whether or not the distributions were for qualified medical purposes?

If the distributions were NOT for qualified medical purposes, the distributions are taxable.  If you distributed the money prior to turning 65 years old, there is a 20% penalty on the distribution.   I suspect that is what TT is trying to sort out.

Thank you. I answered that all were legitimate medical expenses.
