Go into the Federal program.

  1. Select "Deductions & Credits"
  2. Select "Property (Real Estate) Taxes.  You should see Edit to the right.
  3. This will take you to the input screen.

If your property taxes are listed on your 1098 Form, there is an area under the Mortgage Interest section where you can enter them if applicable.

Unfortunately fields used to input the tax are blocked for entry

Turbo Tax will not let me enter my property taxes. It shows last years but will not allow me to enter this years. The screen goes blank (white). I tried reloading Turbo Tax and did the update that it requested me to do. Now what????? I need to put my property taxes in.

Is there a way to pull up the actual form and put the amount in?  I will try that but I shouldn't have to.

If you've entered your mortgage interest, please delete that out.  Then go to Real Estate Taxes and try to enter them.  Entry of the taxes along with the mortgage interest will block portions of the Real Estate tax entry screen

Please do what JohnB5677 suggested above:
