Where do you report a charitable gift annuity (cash) other than the 1099-R? Also, the donee has provided a statement to attach to my Schedule A. Can I still e-file?

You would report a Charitable Gift Annuity as part of your Charitable Donations in the Deductions & Credits section. As the donor of a charitable gift annuity, you are only eligible for a partial charitable tax deduction; however, because a portion of the charitable gift annuity is actually an investment for the donor. The charitable organization should provide you with a statement that indicates the deductible portion of your charitable gift annuity.

To enter a charitable donation, please follow these steps:

  1. Log into TurboTax and click on any topic to continue
  2. Click on Federal from the menu on the left-hand side
  3. Click on Deductions and Credits at the top
  4. Scroll down to Charitable Donations and click Show More
  5. Click on Start or Revisit next to Donations to Charity in 2019 and answer the questions.

If you need to submit an attachment with your return, you will not be able to e-file. You will need to print your return and mail it.
