Did you donate it to a charity?

To enter your car donation in TurboTax:

• Continue your return in TurboTax Online. (If your return isn't open, you'll need to sign in and click Take me to my return.) 
• Click the drop-down arrow next to Tax Tools (lower left of your screen).
• Select Tools.
• In the pop-up window, select Topic Search.
• In the I'm looking for: box, type donations.
• In the results box, highlight donations, then click GO.
• Answer Yes when asked if you made any donations to charity.
  
• If you have an ItsDeductible account, select Yes on the next screen and follow the prompts; otherwise, select No.
  
• Answer Yes when asked Do you want to enter your donations?
• Enter the donation (charity, donation date, etc.) and when you get to the Choose a category screen, select Car, boat, or airplane (may be reported on 1098-C).
• You'll be asked to enter details of the car you donated, such as description, value, purchase price, date acquired, and so on.
• On the Enter 1098-C or Statement screen, choose Yes or No as applicable.
• Follow the onscreen instructions to complete this section of the tax interview.
