Where do I go to deduct cell phone bill?

the cell phone deduction is for firefighter, so it's not a personal business... I put it under job expenses, is that ok?

PS If you are not self employed, you may be able to downgrade to TurboTax Deluxe.

that's what I was trying to figure out how to do.. I already paid the 114.99 but I was trying to change it because I am not self employed... I have a 1099 but that's bc I do temp jobs within my working field though in Dental Hygiene.. how can I change that?

If you use your cell phone for your job, enter per the below steps:

To deduct cell phone expenses;

  • Type in 2106 in the search box, top right of your screen, then click the magnifying glass
  • Click the jump to 2106 link in the search results.
  • Follow the prompts and onscreen instructions

Entre your expenses in one of the below fields

Type in schedule c in the search box, top right of your screen

Click on the first category Jump to schedule c link

Follow the prompts and online instructions

Arrive at the Your Business page

Scroll down to the Business Expense category

Click start or update next to Other Common Business Expenses category

Arrive at the Let's write off some business expenses page

Scroll down to the Communication category

Click Start or Update to make your entry
