What does "Average Daily round trip commuting mileage" mean? Does it mean for a day or the year?

Tax returns want annual numbers, not daily or weekly or monthly.

Where is it asking you for an average?  What part are you filling out?

You should see two entries regarding commuting miles.

The first one labeled “Commuting Miles” is asking for the total commuting miles driven for the whole year.

The second one labeled “Round Trip Average Daily Commute” is asking for the average amount of commuting miles that you drive for a single day.
