What di do when I didn't receive a 1099-R. I took a complete distribution.

I took all of my money from my 401-K. I was told I didn't need one. So now I don't know where to enter my distribution and tax amount. Where do I?

You would make an entry for a substitute form 1099-R and put the withdrawal amount in box 1 and the taxable amount in box 2(a). You will see an option to create a substitute form 1099-R on the screen that says Tell Us Which 1099-R You Have when you go to enter the form 1099-R. Code the substitute form 1099-R as "7" in box 7 if it was a normal distribution.

You enter the form 1099-R in the Federal section of TurboTax, then Income and Expenses, then Retirement Plans and Social Security, then IRA, 401(K), Pension Plan Withdrawals(1099-R).
